About Me
I began working as a therapist in 2000 in Houston, TX after I completed my graduate work in clinical social work. For the first decade of my professional life, I worked in bilingual community mental health settings. I found this work to be humbling and instrumental to my clinical development.
I have been fortunate to treat people in various points in their healing journey, including acute psychiatric care and intensive outpatient programs. I was a therapist at the Menninger Clinic in Houston in the unit for young adults for several years, where I also supervised clinical interns and fellows. I was an adjunct professor at the University of Houston’s Graduate School of Social Work and have been a clinical supervisor since 2004.
I am currently the Clinic Director for Depth Counseling Texas, a group practice that specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy, and president-elect of the Houston Psychoanalytic Society.
I grew up in Mexico City and am fluent in Spanish. I offer an individualized, collaborative and integrative treatment model, weaving in somatic, cognitive and mindfulness-based treatment approaches such as EMDR, ERP, and trauma-informed yoga when appropriate. Ultimately, I want you to feel deeply seen and heard, while also trusting that you will be skillfully challenged when needed.
I also hold a certification in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research from the Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research (CPTR) California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy in partnership with Journey Clinical as part of my practice.
